Emberwake doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything it needs stays on your device.
What stays on your device
So the app opens as you left it. Kept in the app's own storage on your device only.
To play it when your alarm rings. Kept on your device only, until you choose another.
To work out sunrise times for a sunrise alarm, on the device. Kept on your device only, rounded to about 1 km. It is never sent anywhere.
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, deletes all of it.
Permissions
Emberwake has no permission to use the internet, so it can't send anything anywhere. It asks for these permissions, only when they're needed:
- Notifications, alarms and full-screen alarms: so the sunrise alarm can wake the phone and open over the lock screen.
- Approximate location: only when you tap Use my location, for sunrise times. Typing a location in works without it.
- Run at start-up, keep awake and vibrate: to set your alarm again after the phone restarts, keep the screen on while the fire burns, and vibrate when the alarm rings.
If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include the app's settings in your own device backup to your Google account. That's handled by Android under Google's terms, and we can't see it.
Children
Emberwake isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
